POSITION SUMMARY:

The Communications Lead supports the Division in attaining its goals by developing and delivering materials and campaigns across all internal and external communications channels. This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing qathet’s website, member newsletter, and social media platforms and working closely with staff and Physician Leads associated with current initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement an annual communications plan
  • Ensure initiatives and projects are clearly communicated to key audiences
  • Identify relevant communications opportunities and create, place and communicate content and messages
  • Plan, coordinate and implement marketing campaigns
  • Manage and update content across platforms (websites, newsletters, social media, print) on an ongoing basis
  • Support the Division team in their communications work by helping edit/write content and providing guidance

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Knowledge of best practices in member-based communications
  • Knowledge of BC healthcare system or experience working with physicians
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to organize work, set objectives, establish priorities and manage time and resources
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Knowledge of graphic and website design
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Strong ability to use technology associated with the position
  • Knowledge of Indigenous reconciliation

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in a related field (communications, design, media)
  • Minimum 3 years' recent experience in marketing and communications
  • Experience with graphic design and website management
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Scheduled hours per week: standard working days are Monday to Friday. Scheduled work patterns will be determined collaboratively between the employer and the employee
  • Hybrid workplace model: the Division follows a hybrid workplace model approach, allowing employees to work from home (or other places) as well as from the Division office. The balance of office and home )or other places) will depend on the needs of the position and will include weekly presence in the office for team cohesion and collective intelligence
  • Travel requirements: this position requires some in-town travel between clinic and community service locations
